Beyond the Buzzwords: Strengthening Real Estate’s Climate Narrative
The perception of ESG isn’t what it used to be. Once hailed as a silver bullet for modern-day challenges, the framework needs a messaging reboot. For the real estate industry in particular, backlash to ESG poses dire consequences; the built world is responsible for roughly 40% of global GHG emissions, creating an imperative to remove hurdles and act swiftly toward decarbonization.
This panel will explore how ESG and sustainability storytelling in real estate is evolving amid growing scrutiny. A diverse group of industry leaders — whose expertise spans the fields of real estate development; design; architecture and infrastructure; investment; technology; certification and performance assessment — will share how they are refining their communications strategies to cut through ambiguity, maintain credibility in response to mounting skepticism, and drive meaningful environmental and policy-related impact. Panelists will discuss how stakeholders across the sector are adapting their strategies to broaden the sustainability narrative, aligning business goals with long-term value and future preparedness.
