About the Event
Join us for UCVC Demo Day 2025, a curated in-person event spotlighting top early-stage startups from the University of Chicago and the broader Midwest innovation ecosystem. Hosted by the Chicago Chinese Venture Club (UCVC), Demo Day provides a platform for high-potential founders to showcase their ventures to a panel of distinguished investors, legal experts, and industry veterans.
Our mission is to bridge academia and venture capital by empowering student and alumni founders with capital access, strategic feedback, and deep cross-border insight. This year’s Demo Day will feature innovations across AI, hard tech, consumer products, and biotechnology.

Dr. Charles Cheng

A Stanford Law alumnus and licensed California attorney, he has advised on 100+ investments across AI, medtech, blockchain, and biotech. He is an invited speaker at the UN, IEEE, and GenAI Summit, and serves as counsel to top accelerators and international founders.
Teng Ma

Teng is an early-growth venture investor focused on intelligent manufacturing and medical devices. With strong technical and financial acumen, he leads deal sourcing, due diligence, and post-investment strategy for high-barrier industrial tech ventures. Teng combines U.S. graduate education with frontline VC experience in China to guide innovation at the intersection of policy, tech, and capital.
