About Event

Investment in women's health is gaining momentum, and a new wave of emerging managers and founders are helping drive this shift. While they are fueling innovation and unlocking opportunities that were long overlooked, they're just getting started. As funding accelerates, where is the capital going, and what critical gaps still need to be addressed?

Attendees will get an exclusive preview of key findings from SVB's soon to be released Women's Health Report. Whether you're a founder, investor, or simply passionate about improving women's health, this conversation is not to be missed!

Join us for an insightful discussion moderated by Nuzi Barkatally (SVB) and our powerhouse panel:

Carli Sapir
Founding Partner, Amboy Street Ventures

Carli is the founding partner at Amboy Street Ventures and leads the investment team. Carli has an affinity for startups in the Women's Health & Sexual Wellbeing landscape due to her own personal journey. She is also the founder of Female Founded Club (FFC), a global platform that introduces VC investors to high-quality female founded startups. While she was running the FFC, she recognized that the lack of venture capital flowing to the women's health and sexual health market is stunting the growth of startups that tackle significant health problems. Carli founded Amboy Street Ventures to initiate a shift in the funding landscape that, until now, dictated the innovation in this space. Carli has a background in Private Equity and Engineering. In 2023, Carli was recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

Julie Wroblewski
Co-founder + Managing Partner, Magnify Ventures

Julie spent over a decade as an investor and advisor with institutional-scale family offices and mission-focused organizations, including launching and leading the venture capital investment portfolio and strategy at Pivotal Ventures, an investment and incubation company created by Melinda French Gates to advance social progress in the United States. In her roles, Julie has invested in pre-revenue startups, category-defining companies, and industry-leading venture capital firms, and she’s built partnerships across sectors to seed innovation in emergent markets. She is a frequent speaker on purpose-driven venture capital, gender lens investing, and the care economy. Her interests as an investor have been shaped in part by her role as a family caregiver, and her earliest work experiences as a helicopter-certified EMT and caregiver for older adults and the disabled. Julie is a Kauffman Fellow and member of All Raise, and resides in Los Angeles with her family.

Carine Carmy
Co-founder + CEO, Origin

Carine is Co-Founder and CEO at Origin. She has focused her career on increasing access to products and services that unlock human potential, from consumer healthcare to 3D printing. Carine's passion for women's health started in her early twenties, when she experienced painful sex for years and was unable to find treatment that worked. She is honored to be able to work at the forefront of a major cultural shift to help women feel their best.

Before Origin, Carine was VP Sales and Marketing at Amino, the leading platform for healthcare financial wellness, and was VP of Marketing at Shapeways, a leading 3D printing service. She began her career in management consulting at Monitor Deloitte and co-founded Marketspace, a boutique digital strategy firm. An avid writer, Carine has been published in MIT Technology Review, Forbes, and Ad Age. She advises nonprofits, champions diversity and economic equality, and leads a community of startup growth leaders. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, she has conducted research for The Milken Institute and Penn’s Center for Bioethics.

Founder + Managing Partner, Kaya Ventures
