I’m very excited for this months DirectorPlus event where we’ll get to learn from Rachana Kumar, former CTO of Etsy and Daniel Doubrovkine who is leading the Augmented Engineering team within the Developer Productivity org at Shopify
1. Augmented Engineering at Shopify - Daniel Doubrovkine, Director of Engineering, Shopify
We’re going to kick off the evening by getting a peek into the future of AI enabled software development from someone working on the front lines. Daniel recently joined Shopify as a Director of Engineering to head up the Augmented Engineering team within the Developer Productivity org at Shopify.
His job is to enable augmented engineering at scale across Shopify which recently declared it was an AI first company. We’ll discuss what he’s learning and hopefully get some insights to accelerate AI enablement within our software engineering orgs.
2. From EM to CTO - Rachana Kumar, former CTO, Etsy
Over the last decade Rachana has traversed the path from engineering manager to CTO of a publicly traded company. In this thoughtful and intimate fireside chat we’ll cover her journey identifying key takeaways for engineering leaders such as:
Career development - how the job changes from EM → Director → VP → CTO and what she wishes she had know about how her bosses thought and promoted their reports.
Culture, values and diversity - and their importance in building an effective, inclusive team
Going global - Her experiences launching the Etsy tech hub in Mexico city.
The event runs from 6.30pm - 9.30pm at 28th and Park. We kick off with food and drink followed by Daniel at 7pm, Rachana at 7.30pm, breakouts at 8 and then an opportunity to keep conversing with your peers from 8.30 - 9.30pm.
