​What to Expect?
How do we create a resilient, responsive, and sustainable global ocean observing system? Despite the demand for comprehensive real-time ocean intelligence across every maritime industry and every ocean-based climate solution, existing ocean observing systems remain heavily siloed and poorly coordinated. We will explore how we can draw inspiration from other Earth system observing domains to develop a new software coordination layer that sits between diverse ocean stakeholders and the actual observing hardware deployed at sea, providing a path to rapidly scaling observing capacity to keep pace with our changing oceans and the demands we place on them.
