Join us to learn about the Thames, discover how you can help protect its ecosystem, connect with like-minded Londoners, and take part in hands-on volunteering activities!
The Green Londoner, in partnership with Terra.do and with the support of Hammersmith & Fulham Climate Group, invites you to a unique afternoon of exploration, action, and community by the Thames!
🌊 Join us for:
A guided walk along the Thames, leading to Leg O'Mutton—a hidden lake and biodiversity hotspot.
Citizen science in action—conducting water testing by the river.
Creative workshops—learning crafts and climate-inspired painting with a local artist.
A social gathering at Riverside Studios, wrapping up the day with a fun and engaging pub quiz!
🎒Be sure to bring:
Walking shoes
Water bottle
Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, lotion)
Binoculars (if you have any!)
⚠️ Although the route is mostly flat, it includes a moderate walk on unpaved paths and is not recommended for individuals with limited mobility.

2:30pm: River Walk & Nature Reserve 🌊

Join us for a guided walk along the Thames, crossing Hammersmith Bridge—one of the oldest suspension bridges in Europe. Discover its unique ecosystem and uncover one of London’s best-kept secrets: Leg O’ Mutton, a peaceful biodiversity reserve where birds nest, hidden from most Londoners!
River Water Sampling 🧪
The group will also take part in a hands-on citizen science activity to highlight river pollution on the way back to Riverside Studios.
Participants will engage in water testing, either through detailed analysis or on-site sampling.
Street Artist – Education Trail 🎨
📍Between Hammersmith Bridge and The Dove (pub)
We’re teaming up with a West London-based artist to create an awareness-education trail, striking messages about river conservation ahead of the Boat Race on April 13th.
5:30pm: Social & Thames-Themed Pub Quiz 🍻

Relax and enjoy a fun-filled pub quiz with quirky green facts, great drinks, and good company! Plus, the first three teams will win some exciting green goodies 😁
