Plum Jam: UX Mixer
At Plum, we believe good design and research thrive on conversations - the messy, honest kind that happen when practitioners come together, swap stories, and challenge assumptions.
Plum Jam is our way of creating space for exactly that.
It’s a community meetup designed to bring designers and researchers together for an evening of thought-provoking dialogue, playful chaos, and casual connections.
What to Expect
At the heart of this edition is a candid panel discussion on a theme close to every product team’s heart:
Empathy vs Evidence - Why We Need Both
We’ll explore the age-old debate between user voices and data-driven decisions - and why it’s not about choosing sides.
Joining us are two stellar practitioners who’ve navigated this tension in their own unique ways:
Nash Vail
Designer & Co-founder at Fold and Devfolio, crafting intuitive financial products while balancing the demands of data and scale.
Shreya Mukta Gupta
Design Researcher at IISc with a rich body of work across public health, humanitarian design, and insurtech, bringing context, care, and critique to every project.
Together, we’ll dive into:
The eternal conflict between empathy and evidence in UX
Personas and how well they connect with our everyday experiences
Designing for ecosystems such as healthcare, fintech, and insurtech
Communicating complexity to stakeholders without oversimplifying insights
Beyond the Panel - Play, Connect, Jam
But this isn’t just a sit-and-listen event. Plum Jam is designed for interaction, connection, and a little bit of mayhem.
Kick things off with “The Great Research Mayhem” - our homegrown UX card game that turns research roadblocks into hilarious sabotage. A perfect icebreaker to get conversations flowing.
Sip on good coffee, cool down with refreshing kombucha, and enjoy some delicious munchies as you mingle and share ideas.
Whether you’re here for deep UX conversations or casual catch-ups over snacks, we’ve made space for both.
Be there at 3 PM sharp to make the most of the event - we can’t wait to see you!
