1RG incubator demo day
Earlier this spring we launched the 1RG incubator to support projects at the intersection of community and technology, and invited 6 folks to join our first batch for 12 weeks of co-creation. Each of them had an idea for making Toronto a little better, and they're ready to share what they've been working on.
Join us for an evening of exploration centred around community. Think demo day meets science fair - each participant will have a booth where you can dive deep into their project, ask questions, and maybe even get involved. There will be delicious food, good conversations, and probably some new connections you didn't expect to make.
The projects you'll see are are:
Gardening Spores - a practice for food sovereignty by way getting as many mushrooms as possible in Toronto's backyards
Holofuturist Outlooks - a radio-drama set 15 years ahead in a radically refashioned Canadian urban-scape
Learn Well - building architecture for community oriented learning
Respitely - enabling access to Toronto's shelter and drop-in meal services
Taddle - A platform to bridge the gap between people and policy.
TorontoID - an open data layer for hyperlocal apps in Toronto.
Come celebrate what's possible when we build together.
1RG is a container for series of experiments re-imagining the relationship between technology and our communities. If you want to support the work that we do, consider becoming a Friend of 1RG.
We are officially part of Toronto Tech Week 2025, a weeklong citywide collection of events to connect and celebrate the builders. June 23 → June 27, 2025 | torontotechweek.com.”
