

Workshop: Climate Impacts and Community-Based Adaptation
We’re excited to invite you to a workshop on climate impacts and community-based adaptation, facilitated by Alex Cameron-Smith, Climate Resilience Manager at Verture. Alex is currently involved in initiatives like Climate Ready Clyde, where she helps implement community-based adaptation actions in the Glasgow City Region.
During the workshop, Alex will:
Present an overview of Verture.
Assess key regional climate impacts, with a focus on Southeast Scotland.
Introduce the Community-Based Adaptation Routemap.
Lead a hands-on workshop to help participants apply the routemap in practice.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about community-based adaptation and how it works in real-world scenarios.
About the facilitator: Alex Cameron-Smith
Experienced trainer and Climate Resilience Manager at Verture with over 20 years of experience in collaborative project development, partnerships, and funding strategies.
Co-leads the Secretariat of Climate Ready Clyde, a regional initiative helping the Glasgow City Region tackle climate change.
Co-leads Creative Climate Futures, a community-driven project advancing climate action in Glasgow.
Has coordinated stakeholder engagement at the Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum and worked as Corporate Partnerships Executive at the Climate Disclosure Project.
Holds a MSc in Endangered Species Recovery and Conservation (Nottingham Trent University); a B.S. in Zoology (Imperial College London), and a Certificate in Mediation (University of St. Andrews.)
