"Turn On the Light" – A Solo Exhibition by James Miille
Step into a world where darkness and light collide.
Turn On the Light is the first solo exhibition in Mexico City by fine art photographer James Miille. Hosted at Almanaque Fotográfica, the show will feature surreal photo vignettes and self-portraits created during James' recent journey through chemotherapy. Amid physical and emotional trials, James turned to art as both refuge and resistance — channeling resilience into dreamlike visuals that explore queerness, vulnerability, and hope.
Opening night includes a special interpretive dance performance by Francisco Rojas, bringing James’ story to life through movement and light.
Each photograph is inspired by a song — forming a visual mixtape of survival and reflection. Expect intimate, cinematic works that blend fantasy, emotion, and truth.
🖼 Exhibition runs June 12–29
