LOVC is an early-stage venture capital firm focused on B2B software investments across the Eastern US. Founded in 2016, the firm typically leads Seed through early Series A rounds in businesses at the inflection point between early product-market fit and go-to-market scale. Their concentrated portfolio approach, coupled with first-hand experience building and scaling companies, enables a deeply collaborative and hands-on approach to portfolio support. Additionally, LOVC leverages their platform resources to facilitate capital, talent, and customer introductions.

Primary is the largest early-stage venture capital firm in the world, with $1 billion in assets under management and a staff of 50 working alongside founders to build unicorns like Alloy, Chief, Electric, K Health, Slice, Vestwell, and many more. The firm takes a low-volume, high-conviction approach—and devotes unreasonable resources toward making sure founders can succeed. With an Impact team that outnumbers investors 2:1, operational experts spend 100% of their time making hires, signing customers, and enabling future fundraising to supercharge growth. This partnership with top-tier founders makes companies in Primary’s portfolio 2x more likely to raise a Series A and 19x more likely to reach a billion-dollar-plus valuation—a third of Fund I companies are unicorns, less than a decade out.

Stifel is a comprehensive financial services firm with a deep industry presence and a commitment to fostering growth and innovation. Their venture banking services support companies at all stages, from early-stage startups to late-stage enterprises, offering tailored solutions to fuel growth across various industries. Stifel provides direct banking and lending for portfolio companies, including venture lending, cash flow lending, and specialized credit structures. Additionally, they offer a range of investment banking services, including M&A, capital markets, and advisory services, leveraging the expertise of over 700 bankers worldwide.

Thank you to John Meyer and Mosaic, a LOVC Portfolio company, for hosting the event with us.

About Cassie

Cassie Young, General Partner, Primary Venture Partners

As a General Partner and the leader of Primary's Impact program, Cassie invests in B2B software companies and helps portfolio companies accelerate their paths to Series A and well beyond.

After graduating from Duke (making her a life-long Blue Devils fan), Cassie began her career as an analyst at Citigroup and entered the NYC tech scene in 2006 when she joined TheLadders as an early employee. Cassie took a quick break from NY to earn an MBA at the Tuck School at Dartmouth, but quickly returned and has since worked as VP Marketing & Analytics at GLG and as VP Marketing & Partnerships for Savored (acquired by Groupon in 2012).

Before joining Primary, she spent nearly seven years as a key business partner to the CEO and Board of Directors at Sailthru (marketing tech), hired by Sailthru’s cofounders to launch a new function focused on customer strategy and analytics during a period of rapid growth, ultimately resulting in a specialized global client services team and a $20 million Series C from Scale Venture Partners in December 2013. In 2015 she onboarded a new CEO and collaborated closely with both the CEO/CFO to execute a turnaround strategy from 2015-2018, which grew ARR by 187%, reduced gross churn by 57%, and led the company to cash flow and EBITDA profitability in 2018. Sailthru was acquired by Marigold (fka CM Group, wholly owned by Insight Partners) in December 2018 as part of a martech roll-up play. Following the Sailthru acquisition, she joined the executive leadership team of Marigold and managed a $200+ million P&L with a globally distributed team of 200+ people in the U.S., Europe and ANZ.
