Bear witness to a one-time improvised musical adventure! You know the tropes: heroes, sidekicks, villains, and townsfolk. And for some reason, they all sing about their larger than life emotions.
This month's acts include:
Charmony is Baltimore's newest musical improv troupe — bringing you made up scenes and songs!
LIVE! Baltimore is an improvised variety show with music, behind the scenes shenanigans, and in front of the camera drama!
Hannah LIVE! is Baltimore's only one-Han show, complete with monologues, songs, skits, and security.
Highwire Improv makes a triumphant return to the Lou Costello Room, in the 2nd floor of Zissimos Bar in Hampden!
Come join us for monthly laughs on the 3rd Saturday of every month with a rotating cast of the city's best improv ensembles, as well as frequent regional and national touring guests!
The bar is open all day, and the upstairs comedy room opens at 6:30pm for a 7pm showtime!
What is an improv show, exactly?
Improv is live theater created spontaneously by the performers with the inspiration of the audience. Unless noted otherwise, it’s a comedy show, made even more exciting, intriguing, and hilarious by the fact that none of it is pre-scripted!
At an improv show you’ll see a wide range of creative and fascinating humans perform a highwire act by making comedy out of thin air! It can take many forms, including short competitive games, slice of life scenes, and full length sitcom or movie style performances!
A Highwire Improv show is truly a once in a lifetime performance, never done before and never to be done again!
