About Event

Join us for 1-hour to move your body in this gentle, accessible and dynamic practice.

Allowing the body to move in whichever way it wants to move in a supportive and grounded container can help you to access sensations, release stress from the nervous system and enhance relaxation and wellbeing.

Throughout our lives, we adopt habitual movement patterns and ways of being. Moving the body in a non-linear not only opens up new movement possibilities but also expands our capacity to feel broader and deeper ranges of sensation, feeling and emotion — both within the session and out in the world.

During a wiggling session, you'll be given two instructions: keep your eyes closed and keep at least one part of your body moving. This inward gaze and continuous motion sensitizes you to your inner experience, releases old programming and freeze patterns and encourages the nervous system to balance.

The method is specifically designed as a “no force/no imposition“ somatic modality and can be practiced by anyone, regardless of physical health, ability, fitness level or age.

About the session.

The session will take place over zoom, in your own space.

You'll need a mat/rug/blanket and a private space to practice.

The session will be experiential, with the first 10 minutes for an introduction and demonstration, then 45 minutes of guided practice to music, with time for rest and reintegration at the end.

⭐️ In this session, we'll explore moving what you are feeling.

Moving what you are feeling is the foundation for the Non-Linear Movement Method (aka wiggling). It helps you to notice what's happening internally, taking a break from processing what's happening externally, and sensitizes you to your internal experience.

It's also a wonderful practice to increase embodiment, confidence, and active listening. By listening to and moving what you are feeling, you are tuning your 'nervous system' fork to respond appropriately to your external world.

About your guide, Ocean.

Ocean is a certified teacher of the Non-Linear Movement Method®, developed by Michaela Boehm. Ocean's mission is to help people keep moving and live in alignment with what's here, right now.

All you need to come prepared with is a private space to practice (ideally somewhere where you won't be interrupted), a yoga mat (/rug, comfy floor) and an open mind.

Nice things others have shared.

"Wiggling is like an embodied or somatic meditative movement that’s done low to the ground at the pace of my body, not my mind."

"I feel more self-connection, slowing down and accessing more feeling and sensation."

"My relationship with myself has improved, a bit less people pleasing and a bit more me pleasing & self compassion."

"I practice yoga, which involves mind and body. I find the wiggling sessions to be unique because I move my body how it wants to move. I am also attuned to the sensations of my body while moving."

"I feel calmer and less triggered"

"I think everyone can benefit from this (trauma or no trauma) its such a lovely way to provide an act of self compassion."

————————————

Please note, in order to maintain the integrity of the space and best prepare you and others for the session, we'll be unable to admit you if you arrive 10 minutes after the start time.
