Monthly Group Hike - MLK Day at Cougar Mountain
Hi Friends!
Join us for a refreshing day hike at Cougar Mountain, just outside Seattle! This moderate trail offers a perfect blend of scenic views, lush forests, and peaceful nature. We'll explore a well-maintained loop with gentle elevation gain, making it ideal for hikers with some experience or those looking for a fun outdoor challenge. Expect serene woodland paths, beautiful ferns, and possibly a few small waterfalls along the way.
This will be our first monthly group hike to help you connect with one another while exploring the beautiful outdoor playground that is the PNW. ❤️
Trail Details:
Trail Name: Licorice Fern Trail Loop
Distance: Approximately 5 miles
Elevation Gain: 800 feet
Difficulty: Moderate
Meeting point: Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park Yellow Gate (when you drive in it's hard to miss)
We'll plan for carpools to depart from Seattle around 9am and return to the city around 2/3pm. Please indicate when you sign up whether you can drive others.
What to bring:
Outer layers in case its chilly
Hat and sunscreen
A backpack to carry your belongings
Water and snacks
Friends if you'd like!
Things to keep in mind:
Due to limited carpool spots available, we are not able to guarantee a spot for this experience to every guest.
If you have a car and would like to volunteer to drive guests, carpooling guests can cover the cost of fuel.
After I have more information on how many volunteer drivers are available, I'll confirm with each registered guest on whether there is a carpool spot available for them.
This event may be subject to change depending on weather. I will send updates as we get closer should anything change.
You can bring friends, but please make sure all guests register!
The group will have the option to go to lunch afterward together.
