Juneteenth in Motion: Join YiP for a Walking Tour of Philadelphia's Black History
Celebrate Juneteenth with YiP: The Black Journey – African-American History Walking Tour of Philly
Join YiP on Saturday, June 14th to honor Juneteenth with The Black Journey: African-American History Walking Tour of Philadelphia. This guided experience shares powerful, often untold stories of Black resilience and resistance—highlighting landmarks like Congo Square, unmarked graves, and sites tied to the Underground Railroad and the halls where the Fugitive Slave Act was passed.
📍 Meeting Point: Independence Visitor Center (Northeast corner of 6th & Market Streets). Look for your guide holding a sign for “The Black Journey.”
🕑 Time: Please arrive on time to ensure you don't miss the start of the tour.
🎟️ Registration Required: Free registration provided to the first 10 RSVP's, after that, all attendees must register directly with the event organizer, The Black Journey Philadelphia.
Stick around after the tour to connect with members of YiP and learn how you can get involved in civic engagement and nonprofit work across Philadelphia.
