Rally for the River at SF City Hall
Join Tuolumne River Trust and a coalition of allies as we rally on the steps of San Francisco City Hall, followed by attendance at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission meeting.
Earth Day Rally Agenda:
Tuesday, April 23
12:00 pm: Gather on the SF City Hall steps (1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Pl.)
12:15-12:45 pm: Rally on the SF City Hall Steps
1:00 pm: Brown bag lunch in Civic Center Plaza (bring your own lunch)
1:30 pm: SFPUC meeting in Room 400 of SF City Hall
As the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission prepares their annual budget for a Board of Supervisors vote in June, we invite you to stand with the river! Join our rally to send a powerful message: The people want water.
Low flows along the Tuolumne River contribute to the decline of salmon populations, destroy Indigenous lifeways, create toxic algae blooms, and disrupt the food chain and cycle of life in the SF Bay-Delta and beyond. Excessive water storage, skyrocketing water rates, and low river flows are not the answer. With taxpayer water rates poised to rise and river flows diminishing, we encourage SFPUC to take the next steps towards a more sustainable community, economy and river ecosystem.
