

DojoExplore at Macalester | Week 3: Intellectual Property & Technical Moat
Nucleate Dojo is Nucleate’s undergraduate subdivision, empowering college students to become the next biotech leaders through open-access education, capital, and community.
DojoExplore is a 5-week, introductory in-person seminar series designed to expose undergraduate students to the field of biotech, its basic functions, and its multitude of opportunities. The program is executed in collaboration with Innovation Scholars. Guests ranging from biotech VC to early-stage biotech founders to industry and academia leaders will be carrying out 1-1.5 hour seminars throughout the Spring term.

About Chris Ghere
Chris Ghere works with scientific researchers and entrepreneurs to launch deep tech startup companies based on inventions developed from the University of Minnesota research enterprise. He has an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota and over 20+ years of experience bringing early-stage companies to market. Chris previously co-founded a startup of his own, was an engineering lead in another, and managed the University of Minnesota's software, artificial intelligence, and robotics intellectual property portfolio.
About Deb Miedema
Deb Miedema is a member of the MIN-Corps team at the University of Minnesota, where she supports graduate students, post-docs, research scientists, and faculty throughout the entire innovation commercialization lifecycle. She helps emerging companies transform their ideas into real-world impact. Before joining the University of Minnesota's Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship, Deb spent over 20 years managing intellectual property, market analysis, and competitive intelligence at companies such as Google and Fish & Richardson.
