About Event

Hosted by: Global Schools Forum & Lively Minds

Session Overview

Investing in the early years yields enormous long-term benefits, yet parent-led models in marginalized communities remain underfunded and overlooked and there is an over-reliance on formal education settings for learners. In low- and middle-income countries, parents are often the primary providers of early care and education, playing a crucial role in children’s cognitive and social development. When families and communities are actively involved, education programs become more effective, culturally relevant, and sustainable.

This interactive workshop will explore parent-led ECD models, showcasing proven approaches from Lively Minds and other organizations that empower parents as key drivers of learning.

What to Expect:

  • Demonstration of Effective Parent-Led Models – Lively Minds will share hands-on resources and insights from their work in Uganda and Ghana.

  • Scaling & Replication Strategies – Discussion on how organizations, policymakers, and funders can invest in and replicate these models across low- and middle-income countries.

  • Collaborative Learning – Global Schools Forum will bring in other partners using community-based models, facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration.

Why This Matters

Despite strong evidence supporting parent-led education models, they receive little investment and support. This session will explore:

  • How to work with parents as key partners in early and primary years education.

  • The role of parent-teacher collaboration in improving children’s learning outcomes.

  • Scalable solutions for strengthening parent and community-based education initiatives.

Who Should Attend?

  • Education organizations & practitioners working on early childhood development.

  • Policymakers & government representatives interested in scaling parent-led models.

  • Funders & impact investors looking to support high-impact, community-driven education programs.

  • Anyone passionate about parent and community-led solutions.

This session will provide actionable insights and practical strategies to mobilize investment, expand parent-led models, and strengthen education systems globally.

This event is free and open to all, but space is limited—RSVP now to secure your spot!
