Unlocking the Power of Parents in Early & Primary Education
Hosted by: Global Schools Forum & Lively Minds
Session Overview
Investing in the early years yields enormous long-term benefits, yet parent-led models in marginalized communities remain underfunded and overlooked and there is an over-reliance on formal education settings for learners. In low- and middle-income countries, parents are often the primary providers of early care and education, playing a crucial role in children’s cognitive and social development. When families and communities are actively involved, education programs become more effective, culturally relevant, and sustainable.
This interactive workshop will explore parent-led ECD models, showcasing proven approaches from Lively Minds and other organizations that empower parents as key drivers of learning.
What to Expect:
Demonstration of Effective Parent-Led Models – Lively Minds will share hands-on resources and insights from their work in Uganda and Ghana.
Scaling & Replication Strategies – Discussion on how organizations, policymakers, and funders can invest in and replicate these models across low- and middle-income countries.
Collaborative Learning – Global Schools Forum will bring in other partners using community-based models, facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration.
