​Jami Attenberg is The New York Times bestselling author of seven books of fiction, as well as a memoir,  I Came All This Way to Meet You. 

​Her latest book, 1000 Words: A Writer’s Guide to Staying Creative, Focused, and Productive All Year Round, is inspired by her wildly popular literary movement #1000WordsofSummer, and includes essays of encouragement from acclaimed authors like Roxane Gay, Lauren Groff, and Celeste Ng.

​Jami Attenberg has written about food, travel, books, relationships and urban life for The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, the Sunday Times, The Guardian, and others. She is a New York Times bestselling author of seven books of fiction, including The Middlesteins and All Grown Up, and, most recently, a memoir, I Came All This Way to Meet You: Writing Myself Home. Her work has been published in sixteen languages. She is also the creator of the annual online group writing accountability project #1000wordsofsummer. In 2024 she will publish a new novel, and also a creativity book, 1000 Words:A Writer’s Guide to Staying Creative, Focused, and Productive All Year Round. She lives in New Orleans, LA.
