About Event

Participants will walk away from this session with at least 5 steps to take before, during, and after their return to work that will make the transition easier for them.

Anyone who has taken parental leave can tell you: the return to work can be jarring. After however-many-weeks of adapting to the job of Mom or Dad, you now have another new role to take on: Working Parent. There’s a lot to plan, do, and catch up on to transition back smoothly, all on top of the wide range of feelings you might have about leave ending.

What does a smooth transition back look like?

It’s a re-onboarding of sorts; one that’s well-planned, with clear communication and as few surprises as possible. But it’s also flexible to needed adjustments. You’re getting back into work while also giving yourself grace. Establishing a thoughtful return will pave the way for successfully integrating your professional and personal lives in this new chapter.

What we’ll cover

In this lunch & learn, led by Lee Boole and Nicole Lenzen, we’ll identify some clear ways to ease the transition back to work following parental leave. This webinar is geared towards current parents, people planning to become parents, and managers looking to better understand how they can support their direct reports as they expand their families.

We also know that a smooth return from parental leave can largely be attributed to effective planning prior to going out. We’ll spend some time at the end of this session sharing more about our upcoming program Parental Leave Prep: Group Coaching for Expecting Parents, which kicks off September 25 and equips, empowers, and builds a supportive community among professionals preparing to take parental leave.

About the Facilitators

Lee Boole and Nicole Lenzen are executive coaches and working moms with backgrounds in HR/learning and innovation/product development, respectively. They’ve taken three parental leaves between them and supported countless other professionals in their leaves, as well. They connected over their shared passion for supporting working parents and have honed in on this particular transition, understanding how pivotal it is for both the individual and the employer.
