Sam Hasty (Partner - Active Impact Investments)
Sam Hasty is a Partner at Active Impact Investments, a certified BCorp investing in companies quantifiably reducing emissions. As a Fulbright Scholar, Sam studied financing and support systems for startups around the world and most recently has helped Harlem Capital Partners and Opportunity Hub source quality deals and collectively raise $40M+ for their impact investing initiatives. He is a founding partner of an economic development NGO, Let’s Innovate Through Education (LITE), that’s been recognized as one of 5 grassroots ideas creating change in America. He has extensive experience as an angel investor, with a portfolio including companies in Aerospace & Defense, Agriculture, Healthcare, Insurtech, Logistics Tech and Advanced Materials. Sam serves on the board of directors at King Energy, SWTCH, Jaza, Aquacycl, Flair & Sametrica.
Graham Day (Partner - Spring Impact Capital)
Graham Day has spent his career working with entrepreneurs as an executive, impact investor, advisor, and board member. In his current role, Graham is Managing Partner of Spring Impact Capital, a new impact fund focused on early-stage companies building climate and health solutions across Canada. Previously, Graham was CFO of a renewable energy company, Sistema.bio, working across the global south. He is a graduate of International Business from the Sauder School of Business in Vancouver and has a Master's degree in International Affairs and Economics from the School of Advanced International Studies (Johns Hopkins University) in Washington DC.
Lisbeth Kaufman (Head of Climate Tech BD - AWS Startups)
Lisbeth Kaufman is the Head of Climate Tech BD, Startups and Venture Capital at Amazon Web Services. Her mission is to help the best Climate Tech startups succeed and reverse the global climate crisis. Her team has technical resources, go to market support and connections to help climate tech startups overcome obstacles and scale. Lisbeth is a former Founder of KitSplit.com, a sharing economy company called “the Airbnb of Cameras” by Forbes, and LucidHome.co, easy-to-understand climate risk reports for any address in the U.S. Before she was a founder, Lisbeth worked on climate policy as an energy/environment/agriculture policy advisor in the U.S. Senate. There she built a first-of-its-kind energy efficiency retrofit program and wrote a clean energy bill for farmers that got passed into law.
Murray Thom (VP of Quantum Technology Evangelism - D-Wave Quantum)
Murray Thom is the Vice President of Quantum Technology Evangelism at D-Wave Quantum. His primary responsibility is to help businesses and organizations around the world understand quantum computing and the transformational impact it can have for them today. Murray has been with D-Wave for more than 20 years. He started out in the early days designing for and building quantum computers, and has progressed all the way through the technology stack to software and working directly with customers.
