Fifty years ago, Procter & Gamble Co. employed a guy named Jim Bangel.

As a statistician, he had to submit long and dull reports every month.

One day Jim decided to test one thing. Instead of compiling a regular memo, he wrote a story. The plot revolved around fictional characters, Earnest Engineer, Ed Zecutive (the President), Max Profit (the CFO) and Sella Case as the Sales Director.

His report gained everyone's attention. Soon he took a new position: the official corporate storyteller.
