Startup Fxckups
Startup Fxckups is a panel discussion where founders will share their unfiltered startup fxckups, founder journey, and lessons learned to help you become a better operator by learning from their mistakes.
This isn't your typical event — it's a party where founders come together to spill the beans on their biggest fxckups and the invaluable lessons they've learned along the way. Get ready for a night of candid confessions and entrepreneurial enlightenment at Startup Fxckups!
Our speakers are VC-backed and experienced founders (some even sold their companies before!) as well as angel investors themselves. Whether you're an aspiring entrepreneur or a seasoned founder, this is your chance to hear firsthand accounts of the ups and downs of their startup journeys.
Expect a lively and chilled atmosphere filled with laughter, learning, and maybe even a few "WTF" moments. So, grab a beer with pizza, mingle with fellow founders, and soak up the wisdom that only comes from making mistakes.
Let's turn those fxckups into stepping stones for success!

Patrick Linden (Co-Founder & Managing Partner @ match.asia)
Patrick is the co-founder of match.asia — Southeast Asia's leading M&A marketplace to help companies find their ideal partner for M&A and investment, through its global marketplace of 1000+ buyers and sellers.
The M&A process is often inefficient, expensive, and only open to large companies, but match.asia is here to fix that by leveraging technology and its large marketplace of buyers and sellers to facilitate seamless matchmaking between business owners and potential investors, with a much higher success rate than traditional M&A.
Patrick is a serial entrepreneur who has sold multiple successful companies, including iHipo (acquired by PotentialPark AB), Dealguru Holdings (acquired and went public on the ASX), and Food Runner (acquired by Rocket Internet).
As a mentor at German Accelerator, Patrick also guides startups on strategic planning, industry relationships, business model fine-tuning, and ASEAN market penetration.
Wenhao (Co-Founder @ Smilie)
Wenhao is the co-founder at Smilie — a B2B engagement platform designed to foster key impactful moments through corporate gifting with a personalised approach to building client relationships.
Backed by Antler and notable angel investors, including founders of Circles.Life, Union Gas, and Pickupp, Smilie is the first and leading platform to help companies turn customer engagement into valuable touchpoints for customer retention and growth.
Wenhao previously co-founded two businesses that reached 7 digits in annual revenue and invested in multiple pre-seed startups, such as MyMeal, Gelusto, and Amplific. With his 9 years of experience in building and investing in companies across various industries, such as marketing, software, consulting, construction, manufacturing, and F&B, Wenhao is all in on his latest venture at Smilie to help B2B companies engage with their customers at key moments.

🚀 About The Runway Ventures
The Runway Ventures is helping founders become better and smarter operators by learning from startup failures through its weekly newsletter. Every Sunday, you'll get 1 failed startup story, 2 mistakes, and 3 lessons learned with actionable tips to build and grow your business — all for free.
Some of the most popular and exclusive failed startup stories we've covered include Flash Coffee, Octopus, TaniHub, Kaodim, Fusionex, and StayZilla.
Since then, we've built a growing community of founders, VCs, and operators across Southeast Asia. That's why we're organising this meetup for you to learn directly from founders — be it their unfiltered startup journey, mistakes made, or lessons learned.
90% of startups failed because founders made mistakes. Don't be one of them. Join us, and we'll see you there!
