Description
This week, you will learn to make your own accessories by soldering. The instructor will begin with an overview of the basic tools and materials, such as soldering pen, tin rods, flux, cleaning paste, copper wire, and copper tape. Then, the instructor will demonstrate how to creat three-dimensional soldered sculptures and complex assembled shapes. You will learn how to combine copper wire, copper tape, and small objects/found objects to construct 3D structures, as well as how to sand and polish soldered pieces.
We will provide all the tools and materials for class use. You may take all the artwork you’ve produced with you!
Every “Repairing the Sky” Craft Workshop is composed of lectures on the history of the featured craft, an overview of basic techniques and tools, and guided practicing sessions.
