(Alternate Date) THSA 2025 Kick-Off & Orientation

​The Kick-Off & Orientation is the first event of The Health Collaborative's 2025 TAP Health Summer Academy (THSA). Due to the importance of Orientation, every student IS required to attend. This event held on May 29th serves as an alternate date for anyone who can't make it to the official event the following week in June.

​What will happen at this event:

• ​Meet Heleena (Coordinator of TAP Health programming) & a few other students!

• ​Pick up your customized Lab Coat

• ​Review event procedures, goals & guidelines

• ​Turn in any missing forms

• ​Learn how to register for events (By the time orientation begins, you will most likely be registered for all summer events, but we will still review the process & how to make changes, adjust to wait-list, etc.)

• ​Review infection procedures

• ​Review HIPAA laws and hospital confidentiality guidelines

• ​Learn about a post-summer near-peer mentorship opportunity

​Getting Down to the Basics:

​It is true that you will miss some components that we can't replace at the alternate date event, such as the speakers, museum tour and being part of the full class photo. However, we will build some fun surprises into the alternate date event! We will also still get photos, and make sure you get all the basics fully covered so that you are seamlessly prepared for THSA. Furthermore, you will be sent a link to the video recording from the TAP Health Alum virtual panel that takes place the following week.

​Additional Notes:

​Currently we plan to host this event in The Health Collaborative offices located at 615 Elsinore Place, suite 225. We will assess about a week out and if registrations were larger than we anticipated, we may adjust location of event and registered guests will be notified.
