Think Tank: Neuroscience Event
Quick update:
The event is going ahead, however few advisors have not been able to join due to upcoming general election and the drinks after event would be self funded. Please do come along anyway! It will be an interesting discussion.
The future of neuroscience will be filled with scientific breakthroughs and entrepreneurial ventures springing off them. As seen over the past couple decades, as the puzzle of interfacing with the brain has slowly been pieced apart, entirely new technologies have become viable and been packaged for consumer use nearly every year.
However there is still so much unchartered territory in the field, especially with the ground being broken on invasive technologies. What happens when things go wrong? Can the risk of harming users be completely eradicated by regulatory bodies? How should the general public react to an incident? What about the other stakeholders - investors, scientists doing the research, and entrepreneurs.?
This event aims to find solutions to these questions the field will face. We will host a variety of scenarios and prompts which participants will discuss among small groups. The formal part of the event with be followed by a relaxed networking.
This event promises collaboration between neuroscientists and policymakers, addressing real-world scenarios and developing actionable solutions.
