Chinese New Year Parade 2025

Let's experience one of San Francisco's most spectacular events - the Chinese New Year Parade! Named one of the top ten parades in the world by the International Festivals & Events Association.

Date: Saturday, February 15th, 2025
Meeting Point: Ferry Building main entrance
Meeting Time: 4:00 PM
Parade Start: 5:15 PM

The Plan:

• ​Meet at Ferry Building at 4:00 PM

• ​Walk together to the parade route (~15 min walk)

• ​Find spots near Market & 2nd Street (parade starting point)

• ​Parade will feature:

  • ​Traditional lion dancers

  • ​The famous 288-foot Golden Dragon

  • ​Elaborate floats

  • ​Marching bands

  • ​Special drone light show over the Embarcadero

​ Important Notes:

• ​Parade runs about 2.5 hours (ends around 8 PM)

• ​Event happens rain or shine

• ​Dress warmly and in layers

• ​Bring snacks/water if needed

• ​Standing room is free

• ​Arrive on time as spots fill up quickly!
