About Event

In this drop-in class we will explore movement, breath, and meditation based on the Respira Method, a modern approach and distillation of Yantra yoga, a Tibetan form of movement that originates from the 8th century.

Breath is the one of the “three gates” and is said to be the bridge between the body and mind. In the Tibetan tradition, it is said that the mind rides the wind of the breath. Unfortunately, for many of us, we are governed by our emotions, tensions, and thoughts leaving our breath fragmented and unconscious. What if the breath were a source of rejuvenation connecting us to vitality, energy, and well-being?  This will be a fun, enlivening, and interoceptive (feeling/sensation) based approach to experiencing simple exercises and postures, and helps us connect us to breath in a more complete and natural way. Folks who attend will come away with a deeper appreciation and understanding of the breath and yoga practice, regardless of tradition.
