(re)building with Resilience
An invite-only symposium featuring a series of panels that will discuss the various challenges and opportunities in re-building whole communities post disaster using a systems-based approach that incorporates circular economy, land remediation and regeneration, infrastructure and re-construction of physical real estate for resilience.
A disaster of this scale presents a wide-ranging challenges from coordination of debris removal and addressing contamination to short term housing shortages, underinsured building owners and homeowners forced to make tough decisions about when and whether to re-build. At the same time, there is an opportunity to build differently, to create a holistic and community-based approach to re-thinking spaces and exploring regulatory changes to improve resiliency at a community level.
The diverse experience of our curated speakers enables an open discussion outlining potential strategies and solutions for engaging key stakeholders including government, policy makers, design professionals, construction professionals, building owners and suppliers in an approach that leverages global knowledge, experience and innovation to increase resilience in the long-term while improving efficiencies in recovery time with an eye on circularity and sustainability.
