Speakers

Mor Rubinstein

Mor Rubinstein is an expert in data strategy and DEI, specializing in nonprofits and social impact initiatives. With roles including Head of Data Strategy at Parkinson's UK, she has led data transformation efforts, established frameworks, and spearheaded data literacy programs. At 360Giving, Mor managed data initiatives and created governance standards, contributing to open data efforts across the UK grant sector. She has also held positions with Open Knowledge International and the Oxford Internet Institute, focusing on open data, policy support, and data-driven DEI research. Her work bridges data analysis, inclusion and strategic partnerships.

Elena Simperl

Elena is a professor of computer science at King's College London, working in human-centric AI and director of research at the Open Data Institute. She is also a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS) and a former Turing Fellow. She has co-authored more than 200 papers on knowledge graphs, knowledge engineering, open data, social computing, crowdsourcing, and human-in-the-loop architectures. Before joining King's in 2020, she held positions at Southampton, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany Semantic Technologies Institute (STI) Innsbruck, Austria.

Jonathan Thompson

Jon is product-lead at the Centre for AI & Climate, where he works on a project called Weave, which aims to make open data more accessible for data scientists working in the energy sector. Jon has over ten years experience in the energy industry and has led product development at a number of data-centric software companies.
