About the Trainers

Dr. Elizabeth Wamicha is a distinguished digital transformation expert, senior researcher, and published Information Systems scholar with over 15 years of cross sectoral experience in the digital economy, social protection, and digital health. She holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Cape Town, and both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in IT and Business Information Technology from Strathmore University.

​Currently serving as the Lead Content Developer at Qhala, a leading digital innovation firm in Nairobi, Dr. Wamicha oversees scientific communication, ensuring research findings are accurately translated into accessible knowledge for both public and private sector stakeholders. Her leadership bridges research and practice through clear, strategically relevant insights. Previously, as a Senior Consultant at Palladium, she evaluated and supported digital case management and child protection systems across Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe, significantly reducing documentation technical debt and enhancing team productivity. Her work as a Management Information Systems Consultant with the United Nations World Food Programme involved leading the development and assessment of national MIS systems for cash transfers, enhanced registries, and community development initiatives.

Yaovi Habib Lazare Houndekindo - Director of Francophone Operations

​Yaovi Habib Lazare Houndekindo is an accomplished IT professional who brings over a decade of expertise in IT training, project management, and web/mobile development to datocracy. With a Master’s Degree in Data Transmission and Information Security and certifications in Cisco CCNA Routing and Security, Habib’s credentials reflect his deep commitment to excellence in the tech field.

​Fluent in French and English, Habib bridges linguistic and cultural divides, ensuring datocracy’s mission resonates across Francophone regions. His career is defined by professionalism, adaptability, and a proven ability to achieve transformative outcomes. From spearheading national IT projects across West Africa to driving forward innovative solutions, Habib’s work is a testament to the power of technology in building equitable futures.

Maathangi Mohan - Data Programs and Partnerships Lead

​Maathangi Mohan is a data analyst turned global development sector professional, committed to creating pathways for social inclusion and gender equity. With nearly a decade of experience spanning corporate analytics and social impact initiatives, Maathangi specializes in designing data-driven, gender-responsive strategies that center marginalized voices and empower underserved communities, particularly women in the informal sector.

​During her tenure with SEWA, Maathangi played a pivotal role in transforming centralized operations into decentralized, scalable frameworks, improving market access, advancing digital literacy, and unlocking economic opportunities for women-led cooperatives. Her work embodies the power of technology and data as tools for sustainable development, driving women’s leadership and economic empowerment in communities too often left behind.

​Maathangi brings a strong foundation in data analysis from her early career as a Decision Scientist at Mu Sigma. She holds a PG Diploma in Liberal Studies and Leadership from Ashoka University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University.
