“The Impact of Improv” - how to explore leadership in a playful way w/ Chris Heimann

No matter how good our plans and how well prepared we may be as leaders and people, life will always remain uncertain.

And no matter how much of our past we may carry, or how much we may project ourselves into the future, we cannot escape one fact:

We can only ever have real agency in the present moment… Now.

This interactive Improvisation session is about expanding the present moment, in a playful way. We explore what happens when we let go of planning and fully drop into the Now. We make friends with the unknown as the ultimate source of creativity, possibility and transformation.

Our session will be a fluid conversation. Chris will share some of his experiences and insights (see below), we’ll be playing improvisational theatre games and we’ll reflect on how the mindset and skills of

Improvisation might connect with you, your life and your leadership.

The games we’ll play will help us connect with our awareness, our impulses, instincts and intuition. We’ll also meet our habits as games help us see ourselves - they become mirrors.

And then we experiment with transcending those habits towards more presence & awareness, more options & choices and more curiosity, confidence & joy… in short, towards our potential, individually and collectively, to find agency now.

In this way, Improvisation can serve as a laboratory to discover who we are, what we might become and how we can best work together to bring about the change that’s needed.

Improvisation as a gym for the heart.
