βπ About the guest speaker
βBryce Howitson is a Twin Cities-based designer and coder with multiple specialties including UI engineering, storytelling, and business.
βHe's an official Google Developer Expert in Web Technologies, and he's been trained in the art of facilitating Design Sprints.
βHis talk is titled, βThe Great Divide: Decoding the Design vs. Dev Dictionary.β Bryce will be addressing how designers & developers often live in different worlds. And because of this, they subsequently speak different languages, leading to misunderstandings or frustrations. You will learn how you can be an effective communication bridge between these two groups. It will include a period of Q&A, so bring your questions!
βOn May 3, as in years past, Bryce will host a UX Office Hours session at the Minnebar (un)conference. He's seeking volunteers too. Contact him if you want to help!
βπ§ More about this meetup
βAre you a UXer? A developer? Both?
βThis online meetup is for people who are interested in discussing or learning about the intersection of user experience and software/web development.
βWhy UX & Development???
βThere's a very vibrant tech community in the Twin Cities, and thus a lot of overlap and opportunities for cross-pollination.
βIn addition to exposing new UXers to the development side of things β and vice-versa β seasoned developers, especially the old-timers, often practice UX already.
