This session will provide an overview of the regulatory landscape for crypto assets and crypto asset markets worldwide. It will focus on how different jurisdictions are approaching crypto regulation, highlighting trends, challenges, and opportunities in developing coherent global standards. It will also offer insights into the impacts of regulations in key markets, including the U.S. and emerging economies.
14:30 - 15:15 What are DeFi & DAOs according to the EU regulator, and what’s next for the “[un]sufficiently decentralised” projects? - an interactive workshop
This session will explore the complicated notion of sufficiently decentralised projects through the lenses of MiCA and the varying interpretations of the EU member-states National competent authorities. The discussion will also cover the current open questions around DAOs under (broadly speaking) EU law and the European Commission's focus on DAO categorisation.

This session will focus on the legal implications of staking, as observed from the point of view of different jurisdictions. The discussion will highlight the current work done by the European Securities Market Authority in evaluating the position of staking within the MiCA framework.
16:15 - 17:00 What do we mean when we say “privacy”, and why is it important? - an interactive workshop
This session will delve into the role of privacy in the crypto ecosystem. It will address, among other things, the tension between privacy-preserving technologies and regulatory requirements, considering the importance of maintaining individual rights while ensuring compliance with AML and data protection standards.
