About Event

As Southern California welcomes the third annual Los Angeles Tech Week after a third consecutive summer where heat waves impacted the South Central Los Angeles area drastically, this conversation highlights local success stories who are helping the community embrace sustainability on personal and professional levels.

Join Gaia Green Earth and 213 Communications LLC on October 14 from 5:30 PM to 7 PM to learn from dynamic entrepreneurs who are from South LA and have relocated from other states to continue their missions locally.

Special guests include Kameale Terry, founder of ChargerHelp!, as well as Crop Swap LA founder Jamiah Hargins who will be interviewed by event host and Gaia Green Earth founder Kingdom Gould.

In addition to learning about ways to become part of the green economy by joining the EV movement, attendees will discover ways to sustain their overall health. This important conversation will include a spotlight on holistic health and community leaders at Crop Swap LA who are providing Leimert Park with opportunities to incorporate healthy fruits and vegetables into diets at a time when grocery stores are harder to find locally.

This event is following up the inaugural Los Angeles Climate Week (#LAClimateWeek) held in September 2024 and is being organized during the third annual Los Angeles Tech Week (#LATechWeek).

About guests:

Kameale Terry

Kameale Terry, CEO of ChargerHelp!, is a South Central Los Angeles native with a deep commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. With over a decade of experience in CleanTech, she co-founded ChargerHelp! to provide reliable maintenance and repair services for electric vehicle charging stations. Previously, she held leadership roles at EV Connect and serves as an advisor and co-creator of industry events in the CleanTech sector.

Jamiah Hargins

Jamiah E. Hargins is a chronic social entrepreneur, community leader, and self-proclaimed gardengineer. He is the founder of Crop Swap LA, which is determined to grow food on unused spaces, creating green jobs, independent economies, and nutrient-dense food. With a team of 11 urban farmers and administrators, they have installed and managed three water-recycling front yard microfarms that use just 8% of the water previously used for grass to grow and collect fruit and vegetables for 70 families.

His innovative business and design models gained the attention of LA City officials looking for sustainability solutions around water, food, and economic sustainability, and he was named a Good Food Champion in 2019 and 2023, and launched a clothing and mural partnership with Adidas as a Black Excellence Honoree in 2022.

Presented by Gaia 5G, Gaia Green Earth and 213 Communications LLC during Los Angeles Tech Week 2024 taking place from October 14 to October 20.

This event is a part of #TechWeek - a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem.
