About Event

Have you ever wondered if your drinking habits can impact the age you start menopause? 

What age should we start paying attention to how much alcohol we consume in relation to our menopause timeline? Does a certain drink count make us more susceptible to unpleasant symptoms during menopause? If we’re on track to start menopause earlier than we expected, can we change our drinking habits to push menopause back a few months (or years)?

For this special members series, Seek Menopause + Alcohol Coach, Sue May, will do a deep dive into everything we need to know about menopause and alcohol based on our age and drinking habits. 

Classes kick off in Sober October and will go through Dry January.

Below are some topics Sue will cover during the series: 

  • An overview of how changing your drinking habits can delay the onset of menopause

  • Signs to watch out for that can indicate alcohol is making your menopause symptoms worse (e.g., night sweats, brain fog, anxiety)

  • Why the changes our bodies go through during menopause can make us crave alcohol more or less  

  • What to know about alcohol consumption and estrogen levels in relation to our menopause timeline 

  • How our drinking habits and the age we start menopause can increase our risk for other alcohol-related health conditions 

  • Tips for changing our drinking habits without feeling like we’re missing out (including hormone-friendly mocktail ingredients)

About Sue May

Sue May is a Women’s Health + Menopause Coach. She specializes in coaching midlife women who want to understand what happens during this challenging life phase (peri-post menopause). She uses her expertise in nutrition, HRT, mindset, and lifestyle to support women in feeling their best so they can thrive in their personal and professional lives. Sue has additional experience supporting women trying to conceive and juggling fertility treatments while working full-time. 

Sue’s areas of expertise include menopause, peri-menopause, midlife transitions, hormone, replacement therapy, fertility, trying to conceive, IVF + other fertility treatments. 

In her free time, Sue enjoys spending time with her family and rescue dog, Maggie. She also loves spending time in Prospect Park, doing yoga, listening to podcasts (mostly comedy and health topics), singing, and dark chocolate.
