Cookbook Club: Holiday Happy Hour + Book Exchange
Join us for a Holiday Happy Hour for cooks and book lovers from the culinarily curious to cookbook collectors and passionate home cooks at the beautiful Fabrik community space in Tribeca.
Cookbook Club is a growing community of folks who love to cook and gather. Come to make new food friends and receive a book recommended by someone in the community.
What to Expect:
There's no need to cook for this Cookbook Club unless you want to. You're probably doing a lot of that already this holiday season! Just bring a favorite cookbook, wrapped in it's holiday finest for a white elephant style book exchange. Be sure to include a note in your book to the future recipient sharing what makes the book special. Any unclaimed books at the end of the evening will be donated through Little Free Libraries throughout the city.
BEZI Labneh and Third Place Bar have graciously sponsored our event. We'll have a full spread of bites on hand featuring BEZI along with sips to fuel conversation during the evening including mocktails provided by Third Place Bar.
Agenda:
6:00pm: Gather and Mingle over drinks & snacks featuring BEZI Labneh
6:30pm: White Elephant Book Exchange
7:00pm: Trade Books and Chat
How to Prepare:
Pick a cookbook you would like to share. Old or new, dog-eared or pristine — choose a book that is meaningful to you.
Write a note to the lucky recipient. Share what this book means to you, or what you hope the new owner will get out of it. If you're feeling creative, have a little fun with it — mark your favorite recipes, add some doodles, print out a "bonus recipe" or link to something related online.
Wrap it in festive style, ready to entice during the white elephant style exchange.
Want extra credit? Bring a favorite dish to contribute to our holiday spread. It could be a recipe from the cookbook you bring, a holiday favorite, or something from a favorite local shop. The choice is yours!
