About Event

“Anger is a tool for change when it challenges us to become more of an expert on the self and less of an expert on others.” - Harriet Lerner, Dance of Anger

Hi! We're Sandra and Teresa and we've been on our journeys of exploring the emotion of anger and coming into a healthier relationship with it.

This workshop is an online space we're creating where we want to share what we've learned and invite you into an exploration of your own relationship with anger, through discussion with other women and a guided anger release ceremony.

This is a pay-what-you-can workshop and we will share with you an option to send us a financial gift afterward.

What to expect?

Part 1 - 1 hour
Landing & settling in
Sandra's & Teresa's anger stories
Exploring our relationship with anger
Demo of different moves to connect with and release anger

Break - 10 min
If you are only arriving for the ceremony, please join the call during the break.

Part 2 - 1 h 20 min
Music-held, guided anger ceremony
Grounding and integrating
Reflecting and Closing

We’ll also be available to talk to you 1:1 after the call in case any intense emotions come up or something you’d like to understand better.

We'll send out a prep note a few days ahead of time with recommendations of things to bring (ideally you're in a space you feel comfortable moving around and making noise in, but you don't need this in order to join and experience something valuable!).

FAQs

Do I need to have something I am angry about?

No. You may be working with existing anger from a recent experience, but you can also come with none of that and either tune into the somatic energy of anger or explore intensity in your body.

What if I cannot attend the whole 2.5h workshop?

If you can only attend a part of it, we recommend either joining for the first 1 hour or joining just for the anger release ceremony. The first hour will include a little theory about anger, exploring your relationship with anger and learning the moves that can help you release anger. After that, we will go into the ceremony, where you will be able to play with the moves and experience our music-held and guided anger exploration. If you already attended our workshop before or have your own practice, you can join for part two, while if it's your first time, we recommend attending part 1 first.

Is there a suggested donation?

We want to make this workshop accessible, so we ask you to pay-what-you-can, which could also be nothing if it would cause you hardship. We'll use Paypal and Wise to accept donations after the workshop.

I have mobility constraints, can I still join?

Yes, the purpose of the ceremony is to create a space for you to connect with the energy of anger in your body, which could look like many different things - including sitting or lying down and simply allowing the waves of feelings to move through your body. There is no right way to do it and the key thing we want to encourage you to do is to listen to your body and move at the pace of your nervous system. (we'll share some tips about how to do that!)
