What’s next for climate tech in Europe? – ESN Morning Brief

We're looking forward to meeting you in Brussels on the morning of 3 June at BeClimate Hub, for a curated event along with other climate tech founders, policymakers, investors, and ecosystem leaders.

The session will open (early at 8AM CET) with coffee and pastries, offering a chance for informal networking before the main programme begins around 8:20AM.

The agenda features two inspiring speakers:

Firstly Kilian Kaminski, co-founder of Refurbed—Europe’s leading online marketplace for refurbished electronics.

Refurbed has become a key player in the circular economy by offering consumers a sustainable, affordable alternative to buying new, while also pushing for more responsible consumption across the continent.

Secondly, Suzana Carp, former Deputy Executive Director at Cleantech for Europe, will join us to share her insights on accelerating sustainable innovation through smart policy. With a deep background in EU climate and energy policy, Suzana brings a unique perspective on how startups can lead the green transition.

Agenda:

8AM: Welcome + coffee and pastries

8:20AM: Fireside chat with Kilian Kaminski

8:45AM: Fireside chat with Suzana Carp

(both moderated by Robin Wauters, board member at European Startup Network and founder of Tech.eu)

9:15AM: Open discussion + networking

10AM: End

Following the talks, there will be time for discussion and exchange, offering participants an opportunity to engage directly with both speakers as well as each other on how innovation and policy can better align to support the growth of Europe’s climate tech sector.

The event aims to:

  • Highlight the role of startups in delivering solutions in energy, mobility, and sustainable infrastructure

  • Bridge the gap between entrepreneurs, policymakers, and investors

  • Encourage dialogue on scaling green innovation in line with European climate goals

This is a compact, high-value morning event that blends inspiration with insight—perfectly timed to energise participants for the day ahead during EU Green Week.
