Under Pressure UK Premiere Screening

Premiering in the UK, "Under Pressure" tells the gripping story of a pastor who becomes a commander of a medic crew on the Ukrainian frontline, confronting profound moral and spiritual dilemmas amidst the chaos of war, testing the very core of his faith.

Using raw, original footage from the frontline, the film reveals the struggle of balancing deeply held beliefs with the harsh realities of war. As the pastor evacuates civilians, manages critical equipment, and faces the daily threat of mines and drones, he wrestles with questions of faith, purpose, and survival. How do you reconcile teachings like "turn the other cheek" when defending your home and family becomes a necessity?

"Under Pressure" also reflects on Ukraine’s recent history, from the Revolution of Dignity in 2013 to the ongoing full-scale invasion, reflecting individuals' contribution to wider historical events. It highlights the rise of a volunteering movement, the unity of a people fighting for freedom, and the tension between faith and violence.

Amid the chaos of war, the pastor’s journey reminds us that faith is not passive—it is constantly tested but never abandoned. This is not just a story of survival; it's about staying true to your beliefs while fighting for family and the future.

The film asks: What truly brings us closer to victory? And why, in the depths of war, do they say, “There are no atheists in trenches?”

"Under Pressure" is a powerful testament to how faith can be both a burden and a source of unimaginable strength when everything is on the line.

Archives of Conscience — Art Exhibition by Lana Mel

Brought to you by the artist Lana Mel, this is an extremely personal and emotionally charged exhibition that explores the profound transformations of interpersonal relationships in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The artist bravely delves into the painful topic of the division in Ukrainian society caused by Russian propaganda and military aggression. Through the prism of her own experience, she reveals how the war has changed her relationships with close people — relatives, friends, and neighbours.

Using various media, the author creates a powerful visual metaphor of a divided society under Russian occupation. The key phrase "Half of the people are crying, half are rejoicing" aptly conveys the dramatic contrast of moods.

The exhibition does not hide the subjectivity of the author's view. We see how some characters are elevated to the level of heroes, while others are subjected to oblivion and condemnation. It is a frank story about pain, disappointment, and revaluation of values.

An important component of the project is the author's field research, who communicated with people from occupied territories. This adds extra depth and authenticity to the work.

The exhibition raises acute questions about the impact of Russian propaganda on society and individual consciousness. It makes us reflect on the nature of ideological differences and their consequences for interpersonal relationships.

This exposition is not only a personal confession but also an important document of the era, recording the painful process of transformation of Ukrainian society in wartime. We invite you to a thoughtful and empathetic viewing.
