About Event

Join us as we welcome Samantha Carwyn (she/her) + Ev Evnen (They/Them) for Beyond Inclusive Language on Tuesday, April 20th from 7:00 to 9:00PM EST over Zoom! This workshop is a part of The CSPH's Sex Education for Professionals track. The content of this workshop is best suited for sexuality professionals and professionals in allied fields.

This workshop will be recorded and will be made available for a limited time to everyone who registers.

During this session, attendees will engage in activities that explore their experiences, feelings of conformity, particular communication habits, and how to set the foundation for inclusive education. During this session, attendees will learn about "mirrors and windows" then get an opportunity to practice using this model to include marginalized and/or minority groups. Attendees will have the opportunity to assess their behaviors and the environments they create.

Through this workshop:

  • Attendees will be provided an opportunity to brainstorm inclusive group norms and provided key norms to include consistently.

  • Attendees will explore particular ways to be more inclusive in their promotions, presentations, and following up after education has been completed.
