Austin is focused on investing in breakthrough technologies, primarily at the convergence of technology and biology. Before ARTIS, he advised institutional investors in the secondary market for private company shares and held positions in software development and product management in a variety of sectors. Previously, he managed political and public affairs campaigns at the state and federal levels for candidates, interest groups, and corporations including serving as digital director for a major presidential campaign.
Lazar Bojic, PhD - VP Investor Network, Curie.Bio
Lazar is Head of Investor Network at Curie.Bio. Over the last 12+ years, he has served as a basic scientist in large pharma, a biotech co-founder, and a head of corporate development. Lazar has led phenotypic screening and target deconvolution campaigns, played an integral role in taking two agents from an idea into the clinic, and has run point on hundreds of millions of dollars in debt and equity financings. Throughout his career, Lazar has always been at the nexus of business and science. He believes that understanding how to effectively use science to create sound business strategies and communicate those strategies to drive business decisions is vital to the success of a biotech company. Lazar has devoted his career to learning how to effectively navigate both sides of this intersection.
Benjamin Kromnick- Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences, Mercury
Ben is the Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Mercury. He brings his experience in building at massively scaled companies and with early stage startups to the 11,000 companies leveraging Mercury to innovate across the healthcare industry. He is a product leader, venture partner and ecosystem builder with deep experience in life sciences, healthcare data, payor systems, wearables, and applied AI who is motivated by the intersections of big data/models, big social problems, and disruptive business models.
